We are looking for an accountancy professional to join us as a Senior Financial Analysis Manager at the Regulator of Social Housing.

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) regulates for a viable, efficient, and well governed social housing sector able to deliver quality homes and services for current and future tenants. We do this by setting standards and carrying out robust regulation, taking appropriate action where needed.

As a Senior Financial Analysis Manager, you will play a key role in leading our engagement with providers. You will lead our planned inspections with registered providers, maintain an ongoing relationship for a portfolio, and manage our planned and reactive regulatory engagement. This includes oversight of our reviews of financial information and, where appropriate, taking a hands\-on role for the most complex and higher risk providers. You will be part of our leadership team and be instrumental in the ongoing development of our teams and approaches to our work.

You will use your professional skills to assess and articulate the level of financial risk faced by individual providers. As such these roles offers a unique opportunity for individuals who want to apply their professional skills and understanding in a varied environment, engaging directly with providers, anticipating risks, and working with colleagues to agree next steps.

You will play a pivotal role in the success of our regulation by working to build a clear understanding of the financial, economic and governance risks that large scale social landlords face, including – the impact of the external economic climate and a wide range of treasury considerations. Working on a portfolio of providers you will have the opportunity to used detailed financial information, modelled and analysed by our own business intelligence team, together with your own analysis of business plans and other financial information and landlord intelligence to develop robust, blended assessments of landlord’s financial strength.### Person specification

As the successful candidate, you will have a financial background and a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with an ability to exercise sound professional judgement. You will also demonstrate an ability to appraise financial performance and business strategy in order to draw out the key issues and reach conclusions. You should have an understanding of regulation and ability to understand good governance and risk management principles. You should also have the ability to apply experience to engage effectively with senior managers and boards of providers credibly.Benefits

Location

We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working, as well as offering a range of flexible working arrangements.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester and Bristol offices will be relocating during 2026/27, however will remain within the city centre. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award.
