Term Time: 20 hours per week Monday to Thursday, 12\.30pm–5\.30pm
School Holidays: 10 hours per week Monday to Thursday, 8\.00am–10\.15am
Some flexibility in working hours will be considered for the right candidate.
About Us
For nearly 50 years, Totterdown Children's Community Workshop (TCCW) has provided high\-quality after school and holiday club provision for local children aged 4–12\. As a registered charity, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and thrive.
Funded by parent and carer fees and overseen by a voluntary Management Committee, TCCW is supported by an experienced and dedicated staff team who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of local children and families.
The Role
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and community\-minded Business Operations Manager to join our team.
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our organisation. Working closely with the Play Manager and Management Committee, you will help ensure the smooth, safe and sustainable operation of our After School and Holiday Clubs.
You will take responsibility for a broad range of business functions, including operations, staffing, finance, administration, parent communications and business development, helping to ensure that TCCW continues to thrive for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
● Support compliance with charity, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
● Assist with operational planning and performance monitoring
● Manage staff rotas and staffing administration
● Maintain HR records and coordinate recruitment, onboarding and DBS processes
● Coordinate staff training and compliance requirements
● Reconcile payments and maintain financial records
● Process invoices, payroll information and expenses
● Monitor outstanding fees and communicate with families regarding payments
● Manage bookings, registrations and attendance records
● Respond to parent enquiries and day\-to\-day communications
● Build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools and community partners
● Support marketing, communications and growth initiatives
● Coordinate maintenance, repairs and equipment purchases
● Arrange IT support and operational supplies as required
Skills and Experience
Essential
● Experience in an operational, administrative or business support role
● Ability to manage a varied workload independently and prioritise effectively
● Excellent organisational and communication skills
● Strong attention to detail
● Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email systems
● Good numeracy and record\-keeping skills
Desirable
● Experience working within a childcare, education or community setting
● Knowledge of charity operations or governance
● Experience of supervising staff or volunteers
