Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical design delivery across multiple building services projects. You will provide technical direction, support our engineering team and ensure projects meet the required programme, scope and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Electrical design leadership: Lead electrical design strategies and key engineering decisions, ensuring designs meet statutory requirements, relevant standards and best practice.


• Project oversight and quality: Oversee multiple projects, review and sign off electrical design outputs, resolve complex technical challenges and address risks to delivery.


• Team development: Mentor Trainee, Junior and Project Engineers, review their work and support training and professional development.


• Client and design coordination: Coordinate electrical designs with architects, structural engineers and other consultants. Lead design meetings, provide clear technical advice and act as an escalation point for technical and coordination issues.


• Commercial awareness: Support project fee management and resource allocation, identify risks to project margins and contribute to fee proposals and additional service opportunities.


• Continuous improvement: Help develop company design guides, quality procedures and technical standards to improve consistency and efficiency.


• Construction support: Provide senior electrical input during construction, review critical technical submissions and help resolve complex site issues and contractor queries.

You will be confident providing technical leadership, supporting the development of other engineers and managing client and consultant relationships. You will bring strong communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities, taking accountability for technical quality and leading by example.

Pay: £45,000\.00\-£60,000\.00 per year
