Ain Silicn is lking fr a Senir EDA \& HPC Infrastructure Engineer t take wnership f the platfrms that pwer ur engineering wrklads.

This is a senir, hands\-n rle cmbining deep expertise in Linux\-based EDA and high\-perfrmance cmputing envirnments with strng AWS clud engineering experience. Yu will be respnsible fr the day\-t\-day peratin, stability and cntinuus imprvement f ur EDA cmpute platfrm, including licensing, jb scheduling, shared strage and netwrking.

Alngside this, yu will wn and evlve the AWS infrastructure supprting ur engineering teams, helping us build a secure, scalable and high\-perfrming envirnment. Yu will als play an imprtant rle in strengthening the wider IT team’s clud capability thrugh knwledge sharing and crss\-training.

What yu’ll be ding
----------------------

Clud platfrm peratins

• Own and maintain ur AWS\-based engineering infrastructure acrss a multi\-accunt, multi\-VPC envirnment.


• Operate, ptimise and trublesht clud envirnments supprting engineering wrklads.


• Supprt clud\-based jb scheduling using technlgies such as AWS ParallelCluster and SLURM.


• Balance platfrm perfrmance, capacity and cst.


• Maintain and extend Infrastructure as Cde and autmatin t enable secure, repeatable builds.

EDA and HPC platfrm wnership

• Own, perate and cntinuusly imprve ur Linux\-based EDA and HPC cmpute farm.


• Manage licence servers, grid services, prductin jb scheduling and shared strage.


• Wrk clsely with engineering teams t ptimise jb thrughput, queue behaviur, licence availability and strage perfrmance.


• Manage EDA tling and licensing arrangements with vendrs.


• Prvide the business with clear visibility f tl availability and licence utilisatin.

Netwrking and security

• Diagnse and reslve netwrking issues acrss n\-premises and clud envirnments.


• Wrk acrss multi\-VLAN, multi\-accunt and multi\-VPC infrastructure.


• Apply security, identity and cmpliance best practice cnsistently acrss the estate.

IT supprt and capability building

• Supprt the wider IT team with requests ranging frm rutine service issues t cmplex infrastructure incidents.


• Crss\-train clleagues in AWS and clud\-native ways f wrking.


• Help build shared wnership f the platfrm and reduce single pints f knwledge within the team.

Yu will have substantial experience administering prductin Linux\-based EDA cmpute platfrms within a semicnductr r cmparable engineering envirnment. This shuld include hands\-n respnsibility fr licensing, jb scheduling and platfrm perfrmance, tgether with several years f practical AWS experience.

Yu will als have experience perating clud\-first infrastructure at scale, including wrklads that have been migrated frm n\-premises envirnments.

Essential experience

• End\-t\-end EDA licence management, including licence servers, feature pls, denials and utilisatin analysis.


• Prductin jb schedulers such as SLURM, LSF r Grid Engine.


• Linux administratin at scale using RHEL, Rcky Linux r a similar distributin.


• OS and kernel tuning, patching and lifecycle management.


• Strage perfrmance tuning fr I/O\-intensive and metadata\-heavy wrklads, including NFS and clud\-native alternatives.


• Prductin AWS envirnments using EC2, EBS, S3, VPC netwrking and IAM.


• Experience wrking within a multi\-accunt AWS estate.


• Infrastructure as Cde using Terrafrm, CludFrmatin r similar technlgies.


• Autmatin using Pythn, Bash r equivalent scripting languages.


• Surce\-cntrlled infrastructure and autmatin integrated int CI pipelines.


• Layer 2 and Layer 3 netwrk fault diagnsis acrss VLANs, ruting and switching.


• Mnitring and alerting acrss cmpute, strage and licence utilisatin.


• The ability t cmmunicate technical issues and trade\-ffs clearly t engineers, vendrs and senir stakehlders.


• A willingness t supprt bth rutine service requests and cmplex infrastructure incidents.

• Experience with majr EDA vendr tlchains and licensing mdels, such as Synpsys, Cadence r Siemens EDA.


• An AWS certificatin, such as Slutins Architect Assciate r Prfessinal.


• Experience running EDA wrklads in the clud using cluster scheduling, clud bursting r hybrid cmpute.


• Knwledge f Windws services, including Active Directry and dmain cntrllers.


• Experience managing clud and EDA licence csts and delivering measurable savings.


• Experience handling third\-party r custmer design IP under NDA r exprt\-cntrl requirements.


• Knwledge f prject\-based access segregatin.


• Experience wrking within an ISO 27001 r similarly regulated envirnment.


• The ability t attend a data centre ccasinally when required.

Yu will understand that platfrm availability directly affects engineering delivery. A stalled queue, licence denial r strage bttleneck is nt simply an IT ticket. It can cst valuable design time.

Yu will be calm and methdical when reslving cmplex prductin issues, even under delivery pressure. Yu will be cmfrtable balancing engineering thrughput against cmpute and licensing csts, and able t explain and defend thse decisins t bth technical teams and the wider business.

Yu will als be cmfrtable acting as the deepest technical expert n the platfrm while actively sharing yur knwledge, develping thers and ensuring that expertise becmes distributed acrss the team.

Key relatinships
--------------------

Yu will reprt t the Head f IT, Glbal, wrking clsely with the existing IT team and engineering teams. Yu will als cllabrate with AWS, clud and engineering tling vendrs, and custmers where apprpriate.

This rle des nt have direct supervisry respnsibility, but yu will help develp the wider team thrugh crss\-training and knwledge sharing.
