Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner and SENCO to join our team.. This role involves leading inclusive practices and SEN support, providing support for Room Supervisors in their teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, special education, and behaviour management, with excellent communication skills. Duties
- Take a lead in promoting inclusive practice across the setting.
- Undertake all duties of a SENCO in line with with SEN code of practice.
- Support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive behaviour management strategies
- Incorporate specialised techniques such as speech therapy, sensory integration techniques, and provide training and support for the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop personalised learning plans and assessments
- Mentor and supervise practitioners, providing guidance on best practices in childcare and early education
- Organise physical education activities to promote healthy development
- Engage with parents and carers to communicate children's progress and developmental milestones effectively
- Proofread educational materials and documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Contribute to ongoing programme development by sharing innovative ideas centred on early childhood education
- Work as part of the senior management team and help shape the development and future success of the nursery.
- Proven experience working with children in early years settings, including preschool environments
- Demonstrable expertise in special education needs (SEN), including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other behavioural challenges
- Experience in teaching physical education and toddler care programmes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor staff and engage effectively with parents
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching children with diverse learning needs is advantageous
- Formal qualifications in early childhood education or childcare are essential; additional training in special education or behaviour management is preferred
Pay: £16\.02 per hour
