You can be based at any of the above locations, however if your chosen location is Yeading/Uxbridge please note:

This role is advertised as being based in Uxbridge; however, the contractual base will be Yeading.

While estate works are being carried out at the Yeading site, all roles will be temporarily located in Uxbridge. Successful applicants will therefore begin their employment at the Uxbridge location.

Job summary

This role will work within the Policy, Digital \& Data Directorate. The role holder will play a pivotal role enabling and leading cross\-functional teams to successfully deliver digital projects and products. They will lead teams by example, fostering collaboration and removing obstacles.

The role holder will coach and enable teams, identifying practices to optimise quality, improve processes, and demonstrate value delivery for their context. Their proven ability to facilitate effective communication and empower teams will be crucial in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of digital solutions that align with user needs and stakeholder objectives.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Lead and coach cross\-functional teams to deliver digital projects and products.

  • Foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, and psychological safety within teams.

  • Track financials and manage commercial aspects to ensure value for money.

  • Promote high standards of quality, user\-centered design, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion Agile and Lean ways of working, coaching teams in iterative delivery.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to align delivery with strategic goals.

  • Plan team capacity and priorities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Person specification

Required experience:

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Proven experience leading cross\-functional teams to deliver digital products within the public sector or relevant industry.

  • Expert understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies and practices, gained by extensive real\-world experience.

  • Experience of working with a facilitative leadership approach in cross\-functional teams.

  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in risk management and budget tracking.
Additional Information

Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements

Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.

Regular travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays.

This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non\-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home\-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.

The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

Required certifications: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM/PSM), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI\-ACP) or Kanban Management Professional (KMP 1\) or equivalent is required.
