About the role:

The Senior Controls \& Integration Engineer provides technical leadership for machine control system integration, testing and validation activities. The role is responsible for ensuring robust machine behaviour through systematic verification, fault diagnosis and control system optimisation, while mentoring engineers and driving best practice in machine development and testing.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • Lead machine integration and validation activities across programmes.

  • Define test strategies, test cases and verification plans.

  • Diagnose complex cross\-functional machine issues involving software, electrical and hydraulic systems

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

  • Drive system verification against requirements and customer expectations

  • Support control strategy development and model\-based design activities.

  • Coach engineers in machine testing, diagnostics and systems engineering principles.

  • Work closely with system architects and software teams to resolve integration challenges.

  • Promote structured development, validation and release processes.
This will be suited to you if…
  • You have strong hands\-on machine testing and fault\-finding expertise.

  • You have an advanced understanding of machine control systems and vehicle architectures.

  • You have proven capability with CAN tools, diagnostics and data analysis.

  • You have a good understanding of requirements engineering, system behaviour and verification methods.

  • You have strong MATLAB/Simulink capability.

  • You have experience leading technical investigations and mentoring engineers.
Even better if...
  • You have a degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.

  • You have significant experience developing, integrating and validating control systems in off\-highway, automotive, agricultural or industrial vehicles.

  • You have strong hands\-on machine testing, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting capability.

  • You have proven experience leading machine integration and validation activities.

  • You have extensive experience using CAN diagnostic, calibration and data analysis tools.

  • You have a good understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, functional decomposition, architecture development, verification and validation.

  • You have experience developing or supporting control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.

  • You have experience defining test strategies, test plans and verification activities.

  • You have the ability to lead technical investigations and drive root cause resolution across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • You have experience mentoring engineers and supporting capability development.
