About the role:

The Controls \& Integration Engineer is responsible for the development, integration, testing and validation of machine control systems. Working closely with systems, software and electrical engineers, the role focuses on proving functionality on machines, diagnosing issues, supporting control system development and ensuring machine behaviour meets customer and business requirements.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • Support development and integration of machine control systems.

  • Execute machine, rig and bench testing activities.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, software and system\-level issues.

  • Use CAN diagnostic and calibration tools to analyse machine behaviour.

  • Develop and execute test cases and document results.

  • Support requirements validation and verification activities.

  • Assist in development and maintenance of MATLAB/Simulink models.

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.

  • Contribute to requirements capture, functional descriptions and interface documentation.
This will be suited to you if…
  • You have strong practical machine testing and troubleshooting capability.

  • You have an understanding of electrical and electronic systems.

  • You have basic systems engineering knowledge including requirements and verification.

  • You're familiar with CAN networks and diagnostic tools.

  • You have experience with MATLAB/Simulink desirable.

  • You have structured problem\-solving skills.
Even better if...
  • You have a degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.

  • You have experience of vehicle, off\-highway, agricultural or automotive control systems.

  • You have practical experience of machine, vehicle or system\-level testing and validation.

  • You're familiar with CAN\-based networks and diagnostic tools (CANalyser, CANoe, CANape, etc.).

  • You have an understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including requirements, functional architectures, verification and validation.

  • You have exposure to MATLAB/Simulink or model\-based development techniques.

  • You have experience supporting root cause investigations and fault\-finding activities.

  • You have knowledge of software calibration and data logging techniques.

  • You have an understanding of electrical schematics and vehicle E/E architectures.
