Job Overview:

You’ll play a key role in preparing them for semi\-independent living, offering emotional support, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

We are currently recruiting for positions at both of our residential homes in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

1\. Safeguarding and Welfare: ○ Ensure the safety and well\-being of young people, respecting their dignity and listening to their needs.

2\. Personalised Care: ○ Tailor care plans to individual needs, celebrating diversity and helping young people achieve their best.

3\. Preparation for Independence: ○ Educate and guide young people in essential life skills for semi\-independent living.

4\. Promoting Health: ○ Encourage healthy lifestyle choices and assist in meal preparation.

5\. Record Keeping: ○ Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure effective communication during handovers.

6\. Behaviour Management: ○ Address challenging behaviours using de\-escalation techniques and support therapeutic outcomes.

7\. Collaboration: ○ Liaise with external agencies and contribute to team meetings for the best outcomes.

8\. Health and Safety: ○ Maintain a safe environment and adhere to health and safety standards.

9\. Team Support: ○ Assist the manager, support staff, and contribute to internal audits.

10\. Professional Development: ○ Stay updated with regulations, participate in training, and improve service delivery.

11\. Role Modelling: ○ Act as a positive role model for both staff and young people.

12\. Cleanliness: ○ Ensure a high standard of cleanliness in the residential environment.

Qualifications:

● Level 3/4 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent is required for senior positions and bank staff, and is desired for support workers.

● All staff are required to enrol onto Level 4 Children’s and Young People’s Workforce within 6 months of employment, with completion required within 2 years to comply with Children’s Home Regulations. Requirements:

● DBS: Required upon successful interview.

● Experience: Minimum of 12 months experience within a children’s residential home is required.

● Flexibility: Ability to cover shifts as required, depending on the needs of the young people. ● Skills: Ability to work patiently, creatively, and sensitively, while setting and upholding rules and boundaries. Support Workers. Salary:

● Support Workers: £13\.00\-£13\.50 per hour (dependent on qualifications).

● Senior Support Workers: £14\.00\-£14\.50 per hour (dependent on qualifications).

● Additional Pay: Sleep\-ins £45, disturbed sleep paid hourly.
