REPORTING TO: Home Manager, Registered Nurse
DEPARTMENT: To be flexible to work across the home.
LOCATION: Hillside Care Home

To be an active member of the management team in the Home delivering direct care to residents and fully supporting the Unit Manager in the day\-to\-day operation of the Home, so ensuring a range of defined quality services are provided.
To surprise, lead and develop staff ensuring individual needs of residents as identified in the Care Planning Process are met.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Team Supervision
\- To undertake the role of Senior Person within a team of Care Assistants to ensure that care services are maintained and delivered in accordance with Legislation, Statuary Requirements and Policies \& Procedures of the organisation.
\- To supervise a team of Care Assistants and/or Support staff delivering care support to residents by:
Assisting with the planning and deployment of staff to provide for the needs of residents.
Ensuring the key worker system is implemented, operates effectively in accordance with agreed policy and is regularly monitored.
Monitoring and ensuring the attendance at work of team members.
Monitoring the daily activities of team members and where appropriate offering advice, support and direction of the team, in regard to the delivery of care support and maintaining of accurate care records by team members.
\- To conduct regular Performance Reviews/Supervision sessions and Annual Appraisals with care staff under their direct supervision.
\- To be responsible for the induction of new joiners to their team.
\- To ensure that all Care Assistants have read and understood each residents care plan prior to providing care.
CARE PLANNING
To participate in the assessment and creation of resident’s care plans and ensure that appropriate consultations occur with residents, relatives of their representatives and all other professionals as relevant and agreed.
CARE DELIVERY
To provide the highest standards of holistic care and attention for the residents by participating fully in the overall care of residents.
To administer medication in line with Qualia’s medication policy and recognised guidelines where this has been agreed with the Home Manager as part of your extended role.
To assist with washing, dressing, feeding, toileting and personal hygiene in line with each resident’s care plan.
To help provide mental and physical stimulation by participating in recreational and social activities with the residents.
To assist in the keeping of accurate records in accordance with registration and legal requirements e.g. turn and fluid charts, daily life notes etc.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
To ensure that all team members mandatory training is maintained and up\-to\-date and that the on\-going development of team members occurs in accordance with Organisations Policies and with due regards to Health \& Safety requirements.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
\- To assist the Unit Manager with the monitoring and evaluation of Health \& Safety within a specified area of the Home and its direct impact on a care team by:
Undertaking risk assessments and recording them
Developing action plans when required to minimise identified risks.
ADMINISTRATION DUTIES
\- To complete delegated administrative tasks from the Home Manager / Nurse on duty as and when required such as updating:
Supervision/Performance review records
Resident Care Plans
CUSTOMER SERVICE
\- To assist the Home Manger/Unit Manager in the marketing of the home by:
Handling enquiries from relatives or outside agencies
Showing relatives and/or representatives around the home.
OTHER
\- To carry out any other reasonable instruction as requested by management
Job Types: Full\-time, Part\-time, Permanent
Pay: £14\.50 per hour
