Senior Care Assistant - Nights

Location: Carisbrooke Manor, Burringham Road, Scunthorpe
Role: Night Senior Care Assistant
Hours: 10pm to 7am, approximately 3 to 4 nights a week

What the role involves

• Leading the night team and keeping the shift running as it should


• Administering medication


• Going to residents who are unsettled, in pain or have had a fall, and knowing when to call for help


• Night checks, repositioning and comfort rounds


• Accurate records, and a proper handover to the morning team


• Keeping the home secure overnight

The role involves being on your feet and moving around the home through the shift, including supporting residents with mobility where needed.

What we are looking for

• At least two years' experience as a care assistant in a residential or dementia care setting. You might already be a senior, or a carer with two solid years behind you who is ready to step up. We will support you either way.


• Confidence administering medication


• Careful record keeping. The day team works from what you write.


• A calm manner with residents who wake confused or frightened
