Senior Care Assistant (Days)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Days) to join our care home team. This role involves providing high\-quality support and supervision to residents, ensuring their wellbeing and comfort during daytime hours. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for senior care. Previous supervising experience and familiarity with care plans are highly desirable. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate resident outings and appointments. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, promoting independence and dignity
- Supervise and support junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility assistance
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Organise and participate in activities that promote social engagement and mental wellbeing
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care
- Support residents’ emotional needs through empathetic listening and companionship
- Ensure the safety of residents at all times by adhering to established procedures and protocols
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home setting, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of care plans and ability to implement them effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with residents, families, and colleagues
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Driving licence is advantageous for facilitating resident outings or appointments
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in senior care and improving residents’ quality of life
- Organised with the ability to supervise staff efficiently while managing multiple priorities effectively
