We want people to 'Do their best work at Thérapie' — and as a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the digital tools and platforms that support our clients, teams, and clinics across the globe. You will own complex backend systems, shape our internal platforms, and work closely with product, data, and UX stakeholders to deliver software that truly makes a difference at scale

Requirements
----------------

1\. Software Design \& Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions across web and internal platforms.


• Write clean, efficient, and well\-documented code following industry best practices.


• Support integration with third\-party systems such as CRM platforms, booking tools, and analytics services.

2\. Collaboration \& Agile Delivery

• Collaborate with cross\-functional teams including Product, UX, Data, and IT to deliver high\-quality features.


• Participate in planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.


• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows and tools.

3\. Troubleshooting \& Performance Optimisation

• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and system errors.


• Monitor application performance and implement enhancements to improve reliability and user experience.


• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable.

4\. Continuous Learning \& Innovation

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and development trends.


• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system architecture and development practices.


• Actively engage with AI\-assisted deve

Qualifications and Skills
-----------------------------

• 3 \- 5\+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.


• Strong business acumen and focus on building solutions that drive real world business outcomes.


• Proven expertise in Node.js, Next.js, Solid understanding of data pipelines — building, maintaining, and optimising data flows between systems.


• Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs, with a grasp of best practices around security, versioning, and performance.


• Working knowledge of Java, or comfort engaging with Java\-based components as needed.


• Familiarity with AI\-enabled development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) — or a genuine, demonstrable interest in building that capability quickly.


• Strong communication skills and experience working in agile, cross\-functional product teams.


• Eligible to work in Ireland without visa sponsorship.
