Senior AV Engineer
Role overview
AVITUC is seeking a senior field service engineer to own complex customer incidents involving AV, collaboration and network infrastructure. This role is suited to an experienced troubleshooter who can work independently, communicate confidently and improve service reliability across a varied customer estate.
Main responsibilities
· Diagnose and resolve escalated AV, unified communications, Wi Fi, switching and connectivity incidents.
· Use logs, packet level evidence and structured testing to isolate faults across devices, services and networks.
· Plan and deliver corrective works, equipment replacements, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
· Coordinate with customer IT teams, manufacturers, distributors and internal project staff.
· Produce clear service reports, root cause summaries and recommendations.
· Support technical standards, knowledge sharing and development of junior engineers.
Essential requirements
· Strong field service experience across commercial AV, IT infrastructure or unified communications.
· Confident knowledge of IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, switching, Wi Fi and network troubleshooting.
· Experience diagnosing meeting room, audio, video, control and collaboration platform faults.
· Ability to manage priorities, customer expectations and technical escalation independently.
· A valid driving licence, willingness to travel across Ireland and permission to work in Ireland.
Useful additional experience
· Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, networking or AV manufacturer certification.
· Experience with network monitoring, remote management, AV over IP and multicast environments.
· Experience producing root cause analysis and service improvement recommendations.
What success looks like
· Priority incidents are diagnosed efficiently and customers receive clear progress updates.
· Root causes and repeat risks are documented and converted into practical corrective actions.
· Technical escalations are handled professionally from first assessment through closure.
Working arrangements and benefits
· Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm; based from Tallaght. Most work is in Dublin and Belfast, with travel across Ireland.
· Annual leave starts at 20 days, rises by one day per completed year to 25 days, and includes Good Friday. A phone, laptop and auto\-enrolment pension are provided; a company vehicle may be available where required.
· Other benefits include mental health, sick and miscarriage leave under company policy; quarterly training; three to four social events; meal subsistence outside Leinster; and company\-paid accommodation for occasional overnight assignments.
