Junior AV Installation Engineer
Role overview
AVITUC is seeking a practical junior engineer to support the installation and commissioning of audio visual systems at customer sites across Ireland. The role suits someone beginning an AV career who is comfortable using tools, learning technical systems and working as part of a field team.
Main responsibilities
· Assist with the installation of displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, control equipment and structured cabling.
· Follow drawings, cable schedules, method statements and instructions from senior engineers.
· Label, test and document cables and installed equipment.
· Support basic configuration and commissioning of meeting room and presentation systems.
· Maintain safe, tidy work areas and protect customer premises during installation.
· Record completed work, issues and equipment details accurately.
Essential requirements
· An interest in audio visual technology, electronics, electrical work or a related technical trade.
· Practical ability with hand tools and a willingness to learn installation standards.
· Clear communication, reliability and a professional manner with customers.
· A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites across Ireland.
· Permission to work in Ireland.
Useful additional experience
· Previous experience with AV, electrical, data cabling or construction projects.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, interactive displays or digital signage.
· A relevant apprenticeship, certificate or technical qualification.
What success looks like
· Installations are completed safely, neatly and in line with the project plan.
· Equipment and cables are labelled and documented correctly.
· The engineer develops the skills to complete standard installation tasks with decreasing supervision.
Working arrangements and benefits
· Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm; based from Tallaght. Most work is in Dublin and Belfast, with travel across Ireland.
· Annual leave starts at 20 days, rises by one day per completed year to 25 days, and includes Good Friday. A phone, laptop and auto\-enrolment pension are provided; a company vehicle may be available where required.
· Other benefits include mental health, sick and miscarriage leave under company policy; quarterly training; three to four social events; meal subsistence outside Leinster; and company\-paid accommodation for occasional overnight assignments.
