Senior Apparel Designer

We are in need of a highly creative Senior Apparel Designer to lead our retro design team and take part in FOCO’s creative output. You will be full of ideas and able to lead on creative solutions for a variety of tasks, including innovative new product for core range launches and FOCO launches, artwork amends, packaging, new products, web banners and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create design tech packs for suppliers.
- Create any Point of Sale or marketing tools that are required for individual products or product ranges/launches.
- Work closely with Garment Tech/ Head of Retro in managing the critical path of the product lifecycle.
- Work with suppliers to manage all stages of product development from proto sample to production.
- Brainstorming and researching new ideas.
- Follow our fast\-moving product development process in close collaboration with your design team.
- Be aware of what our competitors are developing and selling at all times. Gain an understanding our target markets and costs.
- Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal departments including; Sales, Licensing, Production, US Design Team, Merchandising.
- Work closely with compliance and QC team to ensure products meet required standards in production.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) regulations and ensure full compliance in all design work.
- Demonstrate awareness of the approval process for licensed sports products and ensure strict adherence to approval policies and procedures.
- A versatile design style and handwriting
- Flexibility to work past contracted hours to meet deadlines
Specification \& Experience:
- 5\+ years experience in a similar role
- You will follow brand design guidelines and IP compliance meticulously and defend them when necessary.
- Must be willing to travel to China and other countries depending on current and potential new supplier base.
- An excellent understanding of the adobe creative suite is important, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, delegate workloads and meet deadlines
- You will have a full understanding of producing high quality artwork and have a full knowledge of image formats.
- You will have experience working with Brand Style Guides and Licensed Products.
- Travel overseas and within UK to meet with customers to lead on design projects.
