Reed Accountancy Practice are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing accountancy practice for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while developing their leadership and client management skills within a supportive environment.

The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring the delivery of a first-class service. You will work closely with clients, review work prepared by junior team members, and support the ongoing development of less experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of limited company, sole trader and partnership clients


• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts


• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns


• Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping work


• Preparing and reviewing management accounts


• Acting as the main point of contact for clients and responding to queries


• Building and maintaining strong client relationships


• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team


• Monitoring workflow to ensure deadlines are met


• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery


• Assisting with client onboarding and business development activities where required

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice


• Experience managing a portfolio of clients


• Strong accounts preparation and tax knowledge


• Experience reviewing the work of junior team members


• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail


• A proactive and commercially minded approach


• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified candidates will all be considered
