A highly respected and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountancy practice professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing a portfolio, reviewing technical work, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Working within a collaborative and structured environment, you will take responsibility for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery while overseeing the timely completion of accounts, tax, bookkeeping, and advisory work.

The Role

As a Relationship Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for your clients, providing a proactive and relationship-focused service while managing the successful delivery of all client work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of accountancy practice clients


• Building and maintaining strong client relationships


• Conducting client meetings and handling day-to-day queries


• Reviewing accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by junior staff


• Monitoring workflow to ensure deadlines are met


• Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and commercially


• Supervising and mentoring junior team members


• Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues


• Reviewing fees and identifying opportunities for annual fee increases


• Ensuring compliance with engagement, AML and regulatory requirements


• Assisting with onboarding new clients and delivering an excellent client experience

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice


• Strong knowledge of accounts, tax and bookkeeping processes


• Experience managing client relationships and a portfolio of clients


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Experience reviewing the work of junior team members


• A commercial mindset and strong organisational skills


• The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively


• A proactive and client-focused approach
