About the role
Source Supply are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Sheffield\-based school that provides education and care for young people aged 11 to 16 with severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Speech and Language difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and sensory processing needs

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high\-quality support to students with complex care needs and PMLD.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting, changing, and hygiene routines.
- Support with feeding and mealtime assistance, which may include the use of specialist feeding equipment.
- Safely assist with mobility and positioning, including hoisting and moving \& handling procedures.
- Implement tailored education and care plans under the guidance of teaching and healthcare professionals.
- Encourage communication, engagement, and independence through creative and structured activities.
- Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
- A proactive, resilient, and compassionate approach with strong communication skills.
- Experience in complex care, personal care, residential, respite, or SEND settings (adults or children) is highly desirable.
- Moving \& Handling/Hoist Training Certificate – desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs to reach their full potential.
