These are exciting opportunities to work with pupils in Year 2 and Year 4 who require additional support to help them engage positively with learning and remain in the classroom environment.

The Role

This is not a 1:1 SEN role. Instead, the successful candidates will work as Behaviour Mentors, providing targeted support to pupils whose behaviour is impacting their ability to access learning.

You will build positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop strategies to manage their behaviour, regulate emotions and engage successfully in lessons. Support may take place both inside and outside of the classroom, working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils who are struggling to engage with learning due to behavioural challenges.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.

  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom.

  • Encourage emotional regulation, resilience and self-confidence.

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and senior leaders.

  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning and school life.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working in a primary school, educational or childcare setting.

  • Strong behaviour management skills.

  • Experience working with children with social, emotional or behavioural needs would be advantageous.

  • Confident building relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

  • Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.

  • Committed to helping children achieve positive outcomes.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

What We Offer
  • A supportive and welcoming school environment.

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity.

  • Dedicated Reed Education consultant.

  • Competitive rates of pay.

  • Opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils' educational journeys.

  • Immediate start available.

If you are passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and want to make a lasting impact in a primary school setting, we would love to hear from you.
