SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Secondary Nurture Group within a specialist SEN school in the Lancaster area.

This is a full-time role working with pupils who have a range of SEN and complex needs, providing vital support to help them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN and complex needs throughout the school day

  • Building positive relationships and providing emotional support

  • Assisting with learning activities both in and out of the classroom

  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff

Requirements:
  • Experience caring for or supporting children with SEN, either in a school or care setting

  • A clear DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

  • Reliable, patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting young people

  • Available to work full-time from 19th October 2026

  • Ability to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations
