Teaching Assistant (Year 6 SEN Support)

Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide one-to-one support for a Year 6 pupil with autism, focusing on their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in lessons.
- Implement strategies to promote the pupil's independence and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SEN team, and other teaching staff to enhance the pupil's learning experience.
- Help create and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports the needs of all pupils.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with autism or additional needs is essential.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrates a calm, patient, and supportive approach to student interaction.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child and seamlessly integrate into the school environment.

The school is also considering candidates experienced in supporting pupils within a Pre-School/EYFS setting. This role would involve supporting two pupils in Pre-School and providing general Teaching Assistant support within another class during the morning.
