SEN Teaching Assistant
Achievio is a growing centre for educational support and alternative provision, dedicated to helping children thrive both academically and personally. We are looking for compassionate and patient individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants within our Alternative Provision Centre. This role supports qualified teachers in a structured classroom environment, supporting students 1 to 1 or in small groups aiding groups of 4\-6 children with diverse educational needs.
Role Overview:
Position: Teaching Assistant (Alternative Provision)
Hours: Zero\-hours contract (flexible hours)
Pay Rate: £13:20 per hour Start date: 1st September 2026
In this role, you will support qualified teachers in delivering tailored education to children who require an alternative learning environment. Our centre focuses on providing individual and small\-group instruction, promoting each child's educational progress in a structured yet nurturing atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide one\-to\-one and small group support to students, helping them engage with learning and develop social and emotional skills.
- To assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities under the guidance of tutors.
- To support students in managing their behaviour positively and consistently, using de\-escalation strategies where appropriate.
- To provide timely feedback to tutors regarding student progress and next steps after each session.
- To build trusting relationships with students to encourage participation and progress.
- To help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive working relationship with all Achievio colleagues.
- Engage positively with professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, tidy, and well\-organised, including assisting with routine cleaning tasks and resetting spaces between sessions.
- Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Promote the safeguarding of all students in Achievio.

Who We Are Looking For:

- GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and maths.
