Role: SEN Maths Lead Teacher

Salary: up to £39,851 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus £3,000 subject lead allowance

Location: Congleton, Cheshire

Contract: permanent

Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:40pm, Monday to Friday)

Esland Daven School is an established specialist provision, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs. We are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Lead Maths Teacher.

As a SEN Teacher and subject lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering high\-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:* Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (with a particular emphasis on Maths)

  • Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies

  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:

Essential:* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree

  • A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience

  • Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH

  • Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking

  • Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Desirable:* Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
  • Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows)
