Are you a passionate and inspirational Maths teacher looking to make a genuine difference?
Felix House School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher specialising in Mathematics to teach pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4\. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist provision where relationships, inclusion and high\-quality teaching are at the centre of everything we do.
Our pupils have experienced a range of barriers to education, and many require an individualised, therapeutic approach to learning. We are looking for a teacher who can inspire confidence in mathematics, adapt learning to meet diverse needs and help pupils develop the knowledge, resilience and aspirations they need to succeed.
Whether teaching basic numeracy skills to younger pupils or preparing Year 11 students for GCSE or Entry Level qualifications, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on every learner.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive Mathematics lessons across KS2, KS3 and KS4\.
- Adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement and success.
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons that inspire progress and achievement.
- Use assessment effectively to identify next steps and personalise learning.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience and independence.
- Deliver GCSE, Functional Skills and Entry Level Mathematics where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and personalised learning plans.
- Promote positive behaviour through restorative and trauma informed approaches.
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and educational visits.
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) including ECT Teachers.
- A degree or recognised qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stages.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- High expectations for every learner.
- A passion for inclusive education.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience working within SEMH or SEND settings.
- Experience teaching GCSE Mathematics.
- Knowledge of trauma informed and attachment aware practice.
- Experience delivering Functional Skills or Entry Level Mathematics.
- Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake training).
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or speech, language and communication needs.

Pay: £31,000\.00\-£44,500\.00 per year
