Security Officer (Campus Incident and Emergency response)

About the role

This is an exciting position at an international University based in the City of Bath for any applicant that is looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting.
The role is strongly customer focused and you must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative whilst working alone when dealing with emergencies, medical first aid response, alarm activations and many other reported incidents.
Together with a team of security staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and City campus, including student accommodation and other University Buildings.
About you

You are required:
- to have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with a diverse international community, providing understanding, support and outstanding customer service.
- to have computer skills and be able to use various software packages, including custom software specific to the University and general software. Training will be provided when needed.
- hold a full UK driving licence for motor cars
- be First Aid At Work (FAAW) trained
- hold a Security Industry Authority licence
- Please note: If you do not currently hold the FAAW qualification or an SIA licence, we would still encourage you to apply and we will provide the necessary training.

The position includes responsibility for the primary University campus along with the off\-site buildings of the City campus.
The basic working week is of 38\.5 hours (which includes 2 hours contracted overtime). These hours will be worked on a rotating shift basis cover 24/7 365 days of the year and attracts 15% shift allowance, plus 10% market supplement.
The appointment will be made subject to a Basic Disclosure \& Barring Service (DBS) check being obtained.
Campus Services New Starter bonus\*. In addition to the great benefits Campus Services’ offers, this role is eligible for a £1,000 bonus. This is payable the month after successfully passing your six months’ probation. Please note this bonus is pro rata for part time positions.
