Salary: Circa £70,000 dependent on skills \& experiences \+ executive package

Role description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead Governance, Risk and Assurance (GRA) across our Naval Ships business. You will shape and deliver a security strategy covering Information, Operational, Physical, and Contract Security.

You’ll coordinate security risk management across all disciplines, ensuring protection of critical assets and facilities through effective risk assessment, control evaluation, and mitigation.

You will also lead assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements, monitoring performance through KPIs. This is a key role influencing security across complex operations.

Core duties:

  • Manage security risk management process to maintain an effective risk picture that facilitates effective risk mitigation prioritisation

  • Co\-ordinate assurance activities to assess compliance against contractual and Company security requirements

  • Lead all security improvement programmes across all disciplines

  • Manage and co\-ordinate the timely submission of all security business reports

  • Liaise with wider BAE Sector and Group Security teams to maintain awareness of Company requirements and standards, and to share best practice as required.
Essential skills:
  • An excellent understanding of security risk management with extensive practical experience of managing security risk across all security disciplines at a senior level

  • A considerable understanding of Government security requirements with direct experience of assuring compliance (over 5 years)

  • Excellent collaborative and staff work skills, with the ability to collate, prepare and present accurate and timely reports and briefs at all levels within the Business.

The Security team consists of multiple disciplines working together to protect the Business against all threats, whilst also enabling the business to achieve its objectives in a very complex and rapidly changing international environment across the UK, Canada and Australia.
