Are you interested in a pharmacy career and passionate about patient care, but prefer a non\-patient\-facing role? If so, this opportunity could be ideal. We are seeking enthusiastic, self\-motivated, and practical individuals to join our Pharmacy Preparative Services team(s) and complete a Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship.

You will work across different teams during your apprenticeship, demonstrating flexibility in learning and the ability to plan and organise your workload. Strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a patient\-centred approach are essential.

LTHT Pharmacy Preparative Services is one of the busiest in the UK, providing essential ready\-to\-administer injectable medicines, including antibiotics, chemotherapy, nutritional feeds, and Radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and treatment clinics.

This is an exciting time to join, as we are part of a national programme transforming aseptic services in England. The West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) is a designated pathfinder site, and our team is expanding to support a new Aseptic Hub, enabling hospitals across the region to work together and improve patient care.

What you will bring to the role
-----------------------------------

In this role, you will work within specialised clean room environments, rotating across the different departments within Pharmacy Preparative Services. These include two large unlicensed aseptic units at LGI and SJUH, the unlicensed Radiopharmacy Unit at SJUH, the MHRA Licensed Manufacturing Unit (LS10\), and the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department based off site in LS10\.

You will contribute to a wide range of essential duties, including include worksheet and label generation, assembly of medicines, preparation of injectable medicines, dispensing, and receipt and distribution of pharmaceuticals and stock control.

During the second year of training, you will take on additional responsibilities, including accuracy checking and clean room supervisory duties. During this time, you will also be expected to undertake an accredited checking qualification.

To perform in this role, you will need to have good manual dexterity, and the ability to concentrate whilst maintaining high accuracy You will be comfortable working in clean room environments and adhering to strict protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will also develop a strong understanding of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Pharmaceutical Quality Systems.

The post is full\-time, working 37\.5 hours per week Monday\-Friday. Shift patterns will vary dependant on your placements. There will also be some Bank Holiday and weekend commitments.
