Salary: BET Grade 4 A \- E £15,008 \- £16,512 pro rata (£27,780 \- £30,564 is Full Time Equivalent)

Hours: 22\.5 hours per week (term time, INSET days, plus 1 week's work in holidays)

8\.00 am – 3\.00 pm, 3 days per week

Start date: September 2026

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to play a key part in the delivery of a comprehensive HR service to Bohunt Education Trust, specifically at Bohunt Farnborough School.

Main Duties

Recruitment and Selection

  • Liaise with relevant leadership to review, revise and draw up job descriptions, person specifications and place advertisements

  • Process and respond to all applications, whether successful or not

  • Arrange interview and assessment processes and oversee to ensure they run smoothly and are a positive experience for candidates

  • Attend interviews as required

  • Carry out pre\-employment checks (references, DBS, right to work, social media etc)

  • Draft Risk Assessments on occassion

  • Through line managers, ensure an initial induction is in place including arranging safeguarding training
Learning and Development
  • Develop and maintain a staff training record of statutory training, e.g. Safer Recruitment
HR Data Management and Administration
  • Single Central Record \- Keep up\-to\-date with changes in legislation around Safeguarding and ensure the school has an accurately maintained SCR, updating DBS information on a regular basis for staff, regular visitors, contractors, agencies.·

  • Communicate all payroll changes to central HR, including starters, leavers, changes to contract, maternity leave etc

  • Collate timesheets for variable and additional hours worked and send to HR in accordance with payroll deadlines

  • Produce contracts of employment and variation letters

  • Keep accurate staff records on SIMS including training records, and produce annual School Workforce Census

  • Work with Cover manager to issue self\-certification/return to work paperwork to staff returning from sickness absence, highlighting where staff have hit absence triggers, and input absence data on to SIMS.

  • Keep staff files up to date in line with data retention policies

  • Ensure up to date knowledge of Data Protection legislation

  • Respond to Ad hoc requests for information

  • Confidently answer pay and benefits queries from staff, including explaining payroll calculations where necessary

  • Produce annual salary statements (in conjunction with Central HR)

  • Respond to reference requests for staff who have left, involving appropriate school leadership
General
  • First aider \- training will be provided

  • Cover for absent colleagues and undertake other duties commensurate with the role

  • Undertake any other reasonable requests from Headteacher, Head of HR or other Trust leadership
