We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable and collaborative professional who enjoys being at the centre of a busy and rewarding school environment. This role would suit someone who is already working in a bursar, SBM or similar school business position, or someone with a financial background who is ready to apply these skills to a new role.

This is a pivotal position at the centre of school life. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership and management of the school’s business functions including finance, human resources, administration, premises, and health and safety. They will be required to be a face of the school and able to support staff, pupils and parents in the daily running of the school.

Contract: Permanent \| Pattern: Part time \- 22\.5 hours per week (40 weeks of the year \- Term Time plus 2 weeks)\| Salary: Scale point 14 \- 20 (£29,540\-£32,597 Full Time Equivalent) Paid Pro\-Rata \|

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Headteacher, Governing Board and Senior Leadership Team to support the school’s strategic goals and long\-term vision.

  • Help ensure resources are managed efficiently, enabling excellent teaching, learning and wider school improvement.

  • Take ownership of core business functions including finance, HR, administration, premises and health and safety.

  • Support the smooth and professional running of the school office, ensuring pupils, parents and staff receive a high standard of service.

  • Contribute to a positive, well\-organised environment where priorities are managed effectively and deadlines are met.

  • Help strengthen the school’s operational systems and processes, bringing efficiency, insight and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • A confident team player who can be a welcoming and professional face of the school.

  • Experience in financial systems, HR, administration, premises management and health and safety.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy environment.

  • Someone who enjoys supporting pupils, parents and staff with positivity and professionalism.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.

  • A willingness to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the wider success of the school.
