SAP Finance Specialist
Our client, a prominent player in the technology, defence, and security sectors, is seeking a SAP Finance Specialist to join their team in West Essex, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid model. This permanent position is a vital part of maintaining the business-as-usual support for the Finance & Manufacturing functions, ensuring that SAP issues are promptly resolved and monthly processes are completed efficiently. The role also plays a critical role in supporting and delivering long-term projects within the UK business.
Key Responsibilities: • Reviewing transactions such as Distribution, Purchase Orders, and Pegging, and collaborating with the business team to resolve errors
- Managing financial calendars and schedules in SAP
- Providing training to users on business process issues
- Identifying, scoping, and implementing system changes to improve processes and respond to business needs
- Serving as a single point of knowledge across different business functions, including Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management
- Acting as the Business Process Expert/Super User for all SAP and SAP BW activities
- Leading troubleshooting of all business-related service issues and supporting the implementation and measurement of key service level agreements (SLAs)
- Managing incidents, problems, and changes to the service efficiently and effectively
- Recognised financial qualifications supporting a high level of expertise in Finance
- Experience in analysing Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD) issues within the aerospace and defence industry
- Demonstrable experience with SAP ERP/MRP, particularly in product cost management
- SAP experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
- Understanding of IT systems disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, and quality management
- Strong communication skills for both written and oral presentations
- Ability to lead discussions on business-centric requirements and support them through to technical designs
- Experience with other key transactional and reporting systems and data warehousing
- Knowledge of ITIL Functions & Processes
- Business leadership experience in teams and functions utilising complex ERP systems
- Degree level education in a software engineering discipline preferred, although significant experience will be considered
