Sales Ledger Controller

Salary: £30,000–£33,000

Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: Office‑based

We’re looking for a detail‑driven Sales Ledger Controller to take ownership of our sales ledger and keep it accurate, up to date, and well‑maintained.

What you’ll do

• Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger


• Raise and issue invoices and credit notes


• Allocate customer payments and monitor debtor balances


• Chase overdue accounts within agreed terms


• Manage the credit inbox and resolve customer queries


• Work with Customer Service and Operations to resolve discrepancies


• Produce regular aged debt reports


• Set up new customer accounts, including credit checks


• Support month‑end and audit activity with accurate debtor information

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Confident communicator who works well with non‑finance teams


• Organised, methodical and able to manage volume once stable


• Experience in sales ledger, accounts receivable or credit control


• Comfortable investigating incomplete account histories


• Confident using accounting/ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Xero, Oracle, NetSuite)


• Strong Excel skills


• AAT qualification (desirable, not essential)
