We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
You’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new clients, building strong relationships across market segments, and selling the full Marsh Risk and Mercer People and Investments portfolio — insurance broking, risk solutions, employee benefits, and consulting services. This is a quota\-bearing role that requires a proactive hunter mentality, strong business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions to deliver integrated solutions that drive client outcomes and revenue growth.
We will count on you to:
- Source and qualify new business opportunities across corporate and mid\-market clients in Portugal (and where relevant).
- Develop and execute targeted outreach and account acquisition strategies to generate a consistent pipeline.
- Lead the end\-to\-end sales process: prospecting, needs diagnosis, solution design, pricing, negotiation, and closing.
- Present and sell Marsh and Mercer solutions (insurance placements, risk consulting, employee benefits, compensation \& talent, and wider advisory services) in a client\-centric way.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal partners (underwriting, service delivery, subject\-matter experts).
- Create compelling commercial proposals and RFP responses tailored to client objectives and our cross\-functional capabilities.
- Manage accurate opportunity and pipeline reporting; meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Partner with marketing and product teams to refine value propositions, identify market trends, and support go\-to\-market activities.
- Represent Marsh \& Mercer at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings to raise brand awareness and credibility.
- Proven track record (typically 3\+ years) in B2B sales or business development, ideally within insurance broking, risk management, employee benefits, consulting, or professional services.
- Strong commercial mindset with experience managing full sales cycles and meeting sales targets.
- Excellent relationship\-building and negotiation skills with C\-suite and senior decision makers.
- Preferably understanding of corporate risk, insurance markets, employee benefits, or advisory services — or the ability to quickly learn technical offerings.
- English and Portuguese (spoken and written). Spanish is a plus.
- Proposal\-writing, and communication skills.
- Self\-motivated, resilient, and organized with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a matrixed environment across geographies and functions.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
- Prior and Proven Experience selling integrated risk and benefits solutions across insurance and consulting lines.
- Existing relationships with corporate decision\-makers.
- Experience working with corporate clients and navigating complex procurement/RFP processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative, value\-led commercial propositions that combine Marsh and Mercer capabilities.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPM, CII, insurance/benefits credentials) or relevant postgraduate qualifications.
- Strong network in local industry sectors (financial services, technology, professional services, manufacturing, etc.).
- A consultative/solution\-selling approach backed by measurable commercial outcomes.
