Sales & Business Development Manager – Part-Time
We’re building a new B2B marketplace and we’re looking for an exceptionally driven salesperson to help us bring suppliers onto the platform.
You’ll be working directly with the founder, not buried inside a large sales team. You’ll have a front\-row seat to building an early\-stage business, with the opportunity to help shape our sales approach as we learn what works and scale. The role will start on a part\-time/freelance basis, but for the right person, there’s a real opportunity for it to grow into a full\-time position and become a key part of the business as we scale.
This is not a passive sales role.
You’ll be calling. Emailing. Following up. Calling again. Chasing people who said they’d get back to you and didn’t. Finding another route into an account when the first one goes nowhere.
We want someone who loves the chase, doesn’t take rejection personally, and has the energy to keep going until they get an answer.
What you'll be doing
Your main objective is simple:
Get suppliers onto our marketplace!
You’ll work closely and directly with the founder to identify potential suppliers, reach out to them, explain the opportunity, handle objections and get them signed up and trying the platform.
Expect the role to be heavily focused on:
- Cold and warm calling
- Email outreach
- Persistent follow\-up
- Speaking with decision\-makers
- Pitching the marketplace clearly and confidently
- Handling objections
- Getting suppliers through the signup process
- Keeping track of prospects and making sure opportunities don't disappear because nobody followed up
- Feeding what you're hearing from suppliers directly back to the founder so we can continuously improve the product, pitch and sales process
Your job is to turn that into:
“Sure, let's try it.”
Who we're looking for
ENERGY matters enormously in this role.
We want someone who is: RELENTLESS, FEARLESS, PERSISTENT, FAST\-MOVING!
And above all, you're someone who gets things done.
Communication is non\-negotiable
Clear, confident and easily understandable spoken English is essential.
The setup
We're initially looking for someone on a freelance, part\-time basis \- likely around one day per week to begin with, most likely Tuesdays.
London\-based candidates are strongly preferred. The role can have flexibility, but we'd like someone who is comfortable working with us in an office/workspace environment from time to time.
We're an early\-stage startup, so the role has the potential to grow considerably.
This probably isn't for you if...
- You hate cold calling.
- You need three follow\-up emails before you're comfortable picking up the phone.
- You get discouraged easily when people say no.
- You prefer waiting for inbound leads.
- You need a highly structured corporate environment where every step of the sales process has already been written for you.
Day rate: To be agreed based on experience
Interested?
Send us a short introduction explaining your sales experience and why you'd be good at this role!
And because communication is such a big part of this role, don’t send us a generic cover letter. Let us feel your energy, personality and creativity. Show us why you’re the person who can get suppliers excited and get them over the line.
Expected hours: 8\.0 – 16\.0 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
