Job Title: Sales Business and Development

Reports to: Commercial Manager

Pay: £32,000

Overall purpose: To deliver agreed targets and performance within the company’s business strategy.

Kings Fine Cooked Meats is a well\-established meat manufacturing business based in the Town of Wigan for over 130 years.

We currently employ around 160 employees across our factory and offices, working together to provide high quality products to our customers.

We have a diverse range of customers, from the NHS and schools to leading brands such as Wagamama and Jet2\. We also work with some of the UK’s most prestigious venues and events including Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and Buckingham Palace.

As part of our commitment to social responsibility, we actively support various local charities including Wigan Youth Zone and The Brick.

Main activities:

• Respond to appropriate instructions from the Commercial Manager.


• Taking customer orders, processing purchase orders (POs) for purchasing and transport, and arranging customer deliveries on a day\-to\-day basis.


• Liaise with Front Line Managers and Senior Managers, including inter departments.


• Continuously develop and maintain strong relations with customers and suppliers, both in person and via email and telephone.


• Generate new leads through researching and cold calling.


• Negotiating prices led by the Commercial Manager.


• Continue to build relationships with existing customers.


• Actively seek out and attend networking opportunities that are relevant to the business.


• Pitching products and services to new customers and existing customers.


• Initiating new partnership and prospective clients, proactively establish new accounts.

• Passion and enthusiasm for sales.


• Cascade key information with Sales Team.


• Positive attitude, approachable, patient and driven.


• Strong communicator with excellent people skills.


• Driving licence and flexibility to travel.

Ability to commute/relocate:
