Route Planner
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail\-oriented Route Planner with at least 4\-5 years experience to join our logistics team.
The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the effective and efficient planning of road transport operations, designing efficient delivery routes, managing schedules, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong management, organisational, and communication skills to contribute to the optimisation of our supply chain operations. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to problem\-solving within a fast\-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise delivery routes using advanced planning tools and software
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure smooth operations
- Analyse logistical data to improve route efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor delivery schedules and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines
- Utilise Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and communication purposes
- Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery statuses
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding scheduling updates or issues
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during planning and execution phases
- Provide leadership support within the logistics team to foster continuous improvement
- Gaining a full understanding of site requirements and restrictions, transport systems and transport regulations
- Assisting in KPI reporting on vehicle/driver earnings and utilisation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in management, logistics, or supply chain roles is desirable
- Strong driving skills with a valid licence preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems relevant to route planning
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated computer literacy and familiarity with logistics management software is advantageous
- Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Outstanding customer service skills to handle client queries professionally
- Strong organisational skills coupled with analytical thinking for route optimisation
- Have a positive attitude
Pay: £35,000\.00\-£40,000\.00 per year
