JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Rigid Driver

Reporting To: Driver Manager

Job Summary:
The Rigid Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of palletised freight. This role requires flexibility, a strong focus on customer service, and strict adherence to all legal and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliveries and Collections

• Palletised Freight: Safely and efficiently transport palletised freight to and from various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.


• Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes, adapting as necessary to accommodate traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.


• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance on the vehicle, promptly reporting any issues to ensure it remains in good working condition.

Compliance

• Licence and Certification: Maintain a valid Rigid Driving Licence (Category C), CPC, and Tacho card, ensuring all are up to date.


• Regulatory Adherence: Comply fully with all legal, safety, and company requirements during all deliveries and collections.


• Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary documentation related to deliveries and collections, ensuring records are up to date.

Customer Service

• Client Interaction: Provide excellent customer service during all interactions with clients, always maintaining a professional and courteous manner.


• Issue Resolution: Address any delivery or collection issues promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction and reporting any unresolved matters to the Operations Manager.

Other Duties

• Flexibility: Be adaptable to varying start and finish times based on delivery schedules, with the ability to accommodate last\-minute changes as required by the business.


• Additional Tasks: Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, either within or outside the department.

Experience:

• Driving Experience Rigid Driving Licence (Category C)

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of driving regulations, particularly those related to commercial vehicles and freight.

Requirements

• Licence: Valid Rigid Driving Licence (Category C) is required.


• CPC and Tacho Card: Up\-to\-date CPC and Tacho card are mandatory.
