Store Manager – Premium Retail Butcher
Location: Codsall, Wolverhampton
Hours: Full\-Time, 42\.5 Hours per Week (5 Days Including One Weekend Day)
Salary: £30,000 \- £35,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

As we continue to grow, we are excited to be opening a brand\-new shop in Codsall and are looking for an ambitious, customer\-focused Store Manager to lead our newest team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a flagship store from the ground up, helping to establish the shop within the local community whilst driving sales, maintaining exceptional standards, and developing a high\-performing team.
The Role
As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the day\-to\-day operation and commercial performance of the Codsall shop.
You will lead by example, ensuring customers receive outstanding service whilst maintaining excellent standards of product presentation, food safety, cleanliness, stock control, and team performance.
This is a hands\-on management role within a busy retail environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities Leadership \& Team Management
- Lead by example on the shop floor, setting high standards for customer service, product knowledge, and professionalism.
- Create a positive, motivated and accountable team culture that reflects the Eric Lyons values.
- Coach and support colleagues through daily feedback and on\-the\-job development.
- Monitor team performance and address any issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all colleagues follow company procedures, food safety standards, and operational policies.
- Lead daily team briefings to communicate priorities, promotions, and business objectives.
- Take ownership of shop floor standards, ensuring excellent cleanliness, presentation, and availability at all times.
- Act as the main point of contact between the store team and senior management.
- Drive sales growth and profitability.
- Monitor weekly sales performance and KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to increase average transaction value.
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal events.
- Deliver excellent product merchandising and counter presentation.
- Manage stock ordering and replenishment.
- Monitor stock levels and availability.
- Minimise waste through effective forecasting and stock rotation.
- Ensure strong gross profit margins are maintained.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Build relationships with regular customers and the local community.
- Provide advice on products, cooking methods and meal ideas.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety legislation.
- Maintain HACCP procedures and records.
- Complete temperature monitoring and due diligence checks.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Open and close the store when required.
- Manage cash handling and banking procedures.
- Book in deliveries and manage supplier relationships.
- Ensure all operational processes are completed accurately.
- Previous retail management experience.
- Butchery experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Experience managing stock and controlling wastage.
- Commercial awareness and ability to drive sales.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work one weekend day.
- Positive, hands\-on attitude.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Farm shop, deli, food retail or hospitality management experience.
- Food Safety qualification.
- Experience working with fresh food products.
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking
