Hours: Full\-Time, 42\.5 Hours per Week (5 Days Including One Weekend Day)
Salary: £28,300 \- £32,500 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

As we continue to grow, we are excited to be opening a brand\-new shop in Codsall and are looking for an enthusiastic and customer\-focused Assistant Manager to support the leadership of our newest store.

The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth day\-to\-day running of the shop.
You will help lead the team, maintain exceptional standards, support sales growth, and ensure customers receive the outstanding service Eric Lyons is known for. You will also take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in high standards, and thrives in a busy retail environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Support \& Leadership
- Support the Store Manager in the day\-to\-day running of the shop.
- Lead by example, delivering outstanding customer service and product knowledge.
- Coach and support colleagues to maintain high standards of performance.
- Help create a positive and motivated team culture.
- Assist with daily team communication and task delegation.
- Take responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is absent.
- Support the delivery of sales and profitability targets.
- Promote products confidently and encourage add\-on sales.
- Ensure counters and displays are fully stocked, attractive, and well presented.
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal events.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer experience.
- Assist with stock ordering, replenishment, and stock rotation.
- Monitor product availability throughout the day.
- Help minimise waste through effective stock management.
- Support the achievement of margin and wastage targets.
- Report stock issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Build strong relationships with customers and the local community.
- Offer advice on products, cooking methods, and meal ideas.
- Handle customer queries and concerns professionally.
- Ensure all food safety and health \& safety procedures are followed.
- Complete daily checks and due diligence records accurately.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Support HACCP compliance and company procedures.
- Open and close the store when required.
- Assist with cash handling and end\-of\-day procedures.
- Book in deliveries and check product quality.
- Ensure operational standards are maintained throughout the day.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a retail environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience working with stock control and reducing waste.
- Positive and proactive attitude.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work one weekend day.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Farm shop, deli, food retail or hospitality experience.
- Butchery Experience
- Food Safety qualification.
- Experience working with fresh food products.
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking.
- Previous experience supporting or deputising for a manager.
