Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Workers to provide high\-quality support and care to residents in a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing, safety, and independence of residents, many of whom may require specialised care such as Alzheimer's or dementia support. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals through personalised care and assistance.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and minimise distress
- Develop and follow individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, observations, and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Support residents with activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care environments; experience with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hospice care is advantageous
- First aid certification is highly desirable
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly or vulnerable individuals
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and implement personalised care strategies
- Excellent organisational skills. Attention to care plans and case management responsibilities
- Good communication skills for liaising with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, assisting with mobility, and supporting residents’ physical needs.
Pay: From £13\.40 per hour
