Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Workers to provide essential care and support to young people. The ideal candidate will have some experience in childcare (not compulsory) and the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people, their families and professionals. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, implementing and updating care plans, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for those in your care.
Responsibilities
- Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (i.e. Level 3/4 Diploma Children and Young People Workforce with the children's social care pathway) or be willing to achieve the Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years as per Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (England).
- Experience of working and supporting children and Young People to achieve their full potential.
- Genuine commitment to working with and supporting children and Young People to achieve their full potential; with the ability to build and promote trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- An understanding of the issues facing children and Young People and a basic understanding of safeguarding Regulations and Procedures.
- The ability to cope effectively with challenging behaviour.
- Good communication and team working skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Commitment to undertake any mandatory training (outside of working hours) and continuous learning to ensure a high level of service.
- Creativity, enthusiasm and energy to inspire and encourage young people to achieve their goals.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Communicate regularly with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Previous experience in Residential care or childcare is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and families.
- Ability to drive is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
- Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and reporting is an advantage.
- A caring attitude with a passion for helping others is crucial for success in this role.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as required by client needs.
Job Types: Full\-time, Part\-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12\.80\-£14\.00 per hour
