Research assistant with a focus on neurodegenerative and psychological disorders

At the Unit of Integrative Epidemiology our overarching research goal is to improve the understanding of the causes and consequences of ill health and disease, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, and Covid 19\. We strive for multidisciplinary approaches in epidemiologic research and integrate different scientific tools when addressing specific research questions. The Unit seeks an enthusiastic research assistant.
Your mission
The successful candidate will support and participate in several research projects. The main tasks include documenting data management steps, statistical analysis, data cleaning of exisiting databases to ensuring excellent data quality, and manuscript writing. Other tasks include administrative and organisational assignments. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in a supporting role, prefereal with a Master degree in Epidemiology or Public Health. The ability to work in a highly interdisciplinary and international environment, and to engage in continuous professional development is a must.
Your profile
The successful applicant is expected to have:
- Experience in epidemiology and/or public health
- Advanced data management and statistical analysis skills using R Interest in working in an international research group
- Excellence in written and verbal communication in English and Attention to detail, problem solving ability and social skills are highly valuable
- Knowledgeable and serious about data protection and GDPR rules
- Background in psychiatric or neurodegenerative disorders and population\-based epidemiological research is desirable
- Applicant is expected to have Master degree in a relevant area
- Basic level of Swedish
- Experiences with data collection platforms such as REDCap
- Background in environmental exposure studies
- Experiences in Biomedical Science, including laboratory experience
- Experience of analysing Swedish register data Experience of analysing omics data
- Experience in UppMax Bianca
