Part\-Time Senior General Manager \- Operations \& Growth

Predominantly Remote / London

Part Time 3 Days per week

Estimated annual earnings: £28,000–£30,000

£29–£31 per hour \| PAYE employmentApprox. 3 days per week during term time, with substantially reduced school\-holiday hours

We are a growing extracurricular education company delivering specialist programmes to more than 30 schools across the UK and internationally.

We are looking for an experienced Part\-Time Senior General Manager in charge of Operations \& Growth to take genuine ownership of the day\-to\-day running and continued growth of the business.

This is not a traditional administrative role. We are looking for someone senior, highly capable and commercially minded who can independently oversee our operations, maintain excellent relationships with our schools and help drive the next stage of our growth.

The role

You will become the central operational point of contact for the business and take ownership of:

  • Coach scheduling, timetables and cover

  • Recruiting and onboarding coaches

  • School timetables, term dates and programme launches

  • Relationships with existing school clients

  • Resolving day\-to\-day school and operational issues

  • Onboarding new schools

  • Safeguarding, compliance and operational administration

  • Invoicing, payment reconciliation and day\-to\-day bookkeeping

  • Maintaining accurate records in FreeAgent and liaising with our accountant

  • Monitoring outstanding payments and coach invoices

  • Managing our CRM and school outreach pipeline

  • Following up prospective schools and arranging meetings and taster sessions

  • Preparing proposals and supporting renewals

  • Identifying opportunities to introduce additional programmes into existing schools

  • Supporting expansion into new schools, regions and international markets

  • Providing the Director with a concise weekly overview of operations, finances, opportunities and issues requiring escalation
Working pattern

Our business follows the academic calendar, so working hours vary throughout the year.

During school terms, the role will typically involve approximately 3 days per week.

Working hours are substantially reduced during school holidays.

Easter and July involve reduced hours, primarily focused on school renewals, onboarding, recruitment, business development and preparation for the following term.

Most of August has minimal working requirements, with activity increasing towards the end of the month as we prepare for September.

You will be paid for the hours worked each month at £29–£31 per hour through PAYE. Monthly pay will therefore naturally be lower during quieter school\-holiday periods and higher during term time.

Based on the anticipated working pattern, we estimate annual gross earnings of approximately £28,000–£30,000, although actual earnings will depend on the hours worked across the year.

The position is predominantly remote with some London onsite visits required and offers considerable flexibility in how working hours are arranged.

During term time, you should also be comfortable responding to occasional genuinely urgent operational matters outside your normal working days, such as a last\-minute coach absence or urgent school matter. This is not intended to be an always\-on role.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Exceptionally organised and proactive

  • Commercially minded

  • Comfortable managing multiple moving parts simultaneously

  • Confident communicating with senior school staff and clients

  • Comfortable making sensible decisions independently

  • Comfortable managing coaches, contractors and other team members

  • Financially literate and comfortable with basic bookkeeping

  • Confident using spreadsheets, CRM systems and cloud\-based business software

  • Calm and effective when unexpected problems need resolving quickly

  • Interested in helping improve systems and processes as the company grows
Ideally, you will have previous experience in general management, operations, education, children’s activities or another multi\-site service business.

Experience within education or extracurricular activities would be particularly valuable, although it is not essential.

Bonus points if you have a sporting or creative skill you are passionate about!

About Us

We deliver specialist sporting and alternative creative activities and are continuing to expand across the UK and internationally.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to become a genuinely important part of a growing business rather than filling a narrow administrative position.

We are looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility, autonomy and flexibility while helping run and grow the company.
