The Role
As an experienced registered Nurse at A \& R Care, you will play a vital role in delivering high\-quality nursing care to residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person\-centred care plans while ensuring compliance with clinical governance, CQC standards, and company policies.
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including carers, GPs, physiotherapists, dietitians, and community nurses , to provide holistic care and promote dignity, independence, and comfort for every resident.
Hours: Upto 40 hours per week (pattern to be agreed; some night shift would also be required, some afternoons/weekends for events).
Reports to: Registered Manager. Works closely with clinical lead, other nurses and carers
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee safe, evidence\-based nursing care in line with NMC professional standards and CQC regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualised care plans, and regularly review residents’ changing needs.
- Administer and record medications accurately in accordance with company policies and NMC guidelines.
- Ensure proper clinical documentation of care delivery, incidents, and outcomes using digital care systems.
- Lead and supervise care teams, providing clinical guidance and mentorship to carers and junior staff.
- Liaise with external professionals (GPs, community nurses, palliative care teams, etc.) to coordinate care effectively.
- Monitor residents’ nutrition, hydration, mobility, and pressure area management; respond promptly to clinical risks.
- Uphold infection prevention and control (IPC) and safeguarding standards at all times.
- Participate in audits, care reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a professional, compassionate approach that reflects the organisation’s core values — dignity, respect, and empathy.
Essential:
- Current registration with the Nursing \& Midwifery Council (NMC) as RGN, RMN, or RNLD.
- Demonstrated experience within a care home or hospital setting providing care for older adults.
- Strong clinical and risk assessment skills, with sound knowledge of CQC and NMC regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a care team.
- A genuine passion for delivering person\-centred care and improving residents’ quality of life.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of record\-keeping, professionalism, and continuous learning.
- Experience in a nursing home in palliative or dementia care.
- Knowledge of electronic care planning systems (e.g., Person Centred Software).
