About the Role

Hill Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Manager to provide leadership, support and operational oversight across our care homes in the North East of England region.

Reporting to the Operations and Delivery Director, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, occupancy growth, quality of care and regulatory compliance across the region. You will work closely with Home Managers to deliver outstanding resident outcomes while ensuring each service achieves its commercial and operational objectives.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership and support to Home Managers across the region.

  • Drive operational efficiency and performance improvement.

  • Ensure company policies, procedures and strategic initiatives are implemented consistently.

  • Lead the successful integration of newly acquired services.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with regulators, local authorities, commissioners and external stakeholders.
Financial Management
  • Support Home Managers in developing and managing annual budgets.

  • Monitor financial and operational performance across all homes.

  • Identify underperformance and implement corrective action plans.

  • Maximise fee income and ensure effective use of resources.

  • Monitor debt levels and support effective fee recovery processes.
Occupancy \& Business Development
  • Support homes to achieve and maintain target occupancy levels.

  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies.

  • Ensure staff are fully trained to effectively manage enquiries through to admission.

  • Provide support to services experiencing occupancy challenges.

  • Assist with tender submissions, feasibility studies and new business opportunities.
People Management
  • Recruit, develop and support Home Managers.

  • Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews.

  • Manage disciplinary, grievance and employee relations processes when required.

  • Ensure recruitment practices meet company and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor staffing levels and agency usage to maintain efficient workforce planning.
Quality \& Compliance
  • Monitor and improve quality standards across all homes.

  • Conduct audits, inspections and regulatory visits.

  • Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, company policies and legislative standards.

  • Lead actions arising from inspections and quality reviews.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
Customer \& Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff and professional partners.

  • Lead investigations into significant complaints and safeguarding concerns.

  • Represent the organisation at meetings with regulators, commissioners and professional bodies.

  • Champion excellent customer service and resident experience throughout the region.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • Significant management experience within the health and social care sector.

  • Experience managing multiple care services or homes.

  • Strong financial and budget management skills.

  • Excellent leadership, training and people management abilities.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of CQC regulations and care sector legislation.

  • Experience of quality assurance, audits and compliance monitoring.

  • Proven ability to drive occupancy, performance and service improvement.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the region.
