teach195\. is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Chesterfield for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. This role is a full\-time position, supporting a vibrant School until the end of the academic year.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with SEND and SEMH needs, ensuring they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with SEND and SEMH needs both individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with the class teacher to implement specific interventions and strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Assist with the development of academic and social skills, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and emotional well\-being
- Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents when necessary
- Promote positive behaviour and support students' emotional and social development
- Previous experience in a primary school setting, particularly supporting SEND and SEMH students
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Proactive, patient, and flexible approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs
- Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young learners
