About You and the role
The finance team in Europe includes two Financial Accountants who are jointly responsible for managing bookkeeping, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) for Dalberg Advisors entities in the UK, Switzerland, and France. As a team, they ensure that AR, AP, bank and other balance sheet accounts are accurate, up to date, and reconciled regularly. The role also includes supporting statutory audits, vendor payments, expense processing, and intercompany payments, as well as broader financial operations across the European region. These responsibilities are shared between the two team members, with the exact division of work flexibly allocated based on the needs of the team and the firm at the time. The role reports to the Europe Financial Controller.
What You Will Do
· Responsible for client invoicing and hosted staff recharges
· Manage overdue receivables with Project Directors or clients
· Liaise with Project Managers and Project Directors, particularly on complex invoicing requirements and issues
· Manage vendor accounts and processing invoices, including payments
· Manage employee expense reviews and reimbursements
· Support expense policy updates and communicate changes to the broader team
· Ensure all intercompany accounts are fully reconciled, with discrepancies investigated and resolved
· Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Compile monthly financial controls packs for review and audit
· Compile monthly consolidated primary financial statements pack
· Assist with pulling finance reports from the finance system as required
· Prepare initial monthly variance analysis against budget
· Create vendor, expense, and intercompany payment runs
· Create online banking beneficiaries and process payments
· Reconcile trading bank accounts weekly and non\-trading accounts monthly
· Allocate client and intercompany receipts
· Maintain fixed asset register
· Support the preparation of financial documentation as required
· Compile monthly and quarterly VAT calculations for review, ensuring accuracy and completeness
· File AR, AP, banking, and other supporting documents promptly
· Validate monthly shared services calculations and reconciliations
· Support all statutory audits
· Support business needs and ad hoc requests
· Provide holiday cover for members of the Dalberg Europe Operations team as required
