Position: Recruitment Support Officer G5
Location: County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF104UW
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3\+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: PAYE: £13\.47 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for prospective foster carers, providing information, guidance, and ongoing support

  • Manage fostering enquiries from initial contact through the early stages of the assessment process

  • Respond to enquiries professionally and provide clear, accurate information about becoming a foster carer

  • Conduct initial and home visits with potential foster carers where required

  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, applications, and applicant progress

  • Support the Foster Wales Cardiff team with recruitment campaigns, events, and community engagement activities

  • Promote fostering opportunities and help increase awareness within the local community

  • Support the processing of fostering applications in line with procedures, policies, and best practice

  • Work closely with colleagues to improve foster carer recruitment and retention

  • Provide a welcoming and supportive experience for potential foster carers throughout their journey
Person Specification
  • Experience in recruitment support, customer service, social care, fostering, or a related field

  • Understanding of the fostering process and the needs of children in care is desirable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport

  • Ability to provide clear information and support to a wide range of people

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and maintain accurate records

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Experience working with children, families, or community services is desirable

  • Friendly, approachable, and empathetic approach

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for children and young people
