A little more about your role…
We are seeking an NEC Site Supervisor to join our Local Government team in Cardiff, supporting the delivery of a wide range of highways and infrastructure projects across the region.
You will be working as part of a collaborative construction team – made up of Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors and NEC Project Managers \- and will be focused on the delivery of a wide variety of highways, bridges and infrastructure projects on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil councils.
As a NEC Site Supervisor who will be responsible for discharging the duties of a Supervisor under the NEC contract. You will work closely with the construction teams to oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of highways construction and maintenance works; liaise contractors onsite and acting as a key link between contractors, clients and project managers.
This is a varied role, with core responsibilities including:
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and comply with CDM regulations, highway standards, and site\-specific risk assessments.
- Monitor site conditions and update risk assessments as conditions change.
- Inspect completed works and verify compliance with design standards.
- Attend site meetings and communicate progress, risks, and issues.
Use Construction Management Systems to produce comprehensive NEC Supervisor Report for the NEC Management Team and Client.
- What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- A good knowledge of highways construction methodology, either achieved through site operative experience or from a designer background.
- Familiarity with the NEC Construction Contracts.
- Able to demonstrate high standards of health and safety for yourself and others in relation to construction activities. A sound understanding of the relevant H\&S legislation which you can communicate to others when required.
- A keen eye for detail, and the ability to work accurately and methodically to verify that construction work is delivered as designed and meets the specification.
