The role:
AIS is looking for an R\&D Project Manager to lead major global NPD projects, strengthen project management capability across the R\&D function and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes and deliver wider business objectives.
What will you do as our R\&D Project Manager:
- Manage major projects across AIS global business groups within the AIS NPD Phase Gate process and deliver those projects on time and to business scope.
- Ensure all lead projects are managed using a well\-defined project plan encompassing all relevant cross functional activities.
- Lead the project team to deliver against agreed project tasks and work with the AIS management team to remove roadblocks to delivery.
- Be responsible for stakeholder engagement and communication of progress of the NPD projects within AIS.
- Provide best practice project management guidance to the R\&D team and assist the CTO and R\&D Manager to embed the Phase Gate NPD process within AIS.
- Provide direction and oversight to the R\&D Project Coordinator in the management of R\&D departmental services, including intellectual property administration, raw materials procurement, waste management, external testing bookings and associated operational activities.
- Provide direction and oversight to the R\&D Project Coordinator in the management of R\&D equipment and hardware assets, including servicing and repair activities, ensuring operational readiness and H\&S compliance.
- Degree qualified, or equivalent experience, in a relevant engineering, scientific, technical or business discipline.
- Evidence of professional development in project management, leadership or business management (desirable).
- Professional project management qualifications (desirable).
- Experience operating within a multidisciplinary R\&D, engineering or product development environment.
- Experience of leading complex R\&D, engineering or product development programmes.
- Strong understanding of project and programme management principles.
- Strong understanding of product development and governance processes.
- Ability to assess complex situations, identify risks and opportunities, and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills, capable of building productive relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong personal leadership skills, with the ability to engage, influence and motivate cross\-functional teams.
- Salary up to £52,000\.00 per annum, dependent on experience
